Molly Haskell is a writer and a film critic whose work has appeared in the New York Times, the Village Voice, the Los Angeles Times, the Boston Phoenix, the Nation, New Statesman, and other publications. Born in Washington, D.C., she has been a staff writer for Newsweek since 1970 and was a founding editor of Ms. Magazine. She has received many awards for her writing as well as fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and New York University’s Institute for Advanced Study
